DRAINAGE & GRADING

Arrow Foundation Repair designs, installs, and repairs Drainage & Grading systems as this is often the best way to address the root cause of foundation problems. Excess water around a foundation or in a yard can cause wash out, excess hydrostatic pressure on walls, and water intrusion. So whether your concern is a small residential area, or a major commercial drainage overhaul Arrow Foundation Repair can come up with a plan to fix it. Here are some common systems we use for drainage and grading:

French Drain

A french drain consists of a trench filled with gravel and a perforated pipe that is used to redirect surface water and ground water from one area to another. These often consist of several catch basins and can be hundreds of feet in length depending on the area of installation. French drains are a great solution for removing water from low spots or problem areas and directing it to a dry well or an area with a better grade.

Channel Drain

Channel drains can be made of many different materials and come in many sizes. They are a surface drain installed in hard surfaces such as driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, etc. to move surface water from the area where the drain is installed. They consist of either a metal, plastic, or concrete channel with grates on top to catch the water and carry it to an area where it can discharge away from the area. Channel drains are often a cost effective way of fixing drainage issues caused by poorly sloped concrete.

Dry Creek Beds

Dry creek beds, also known as river rock swales, are a very effective drainage solution for moving large amounts of water. They are also very low maintenance and offer long term results. Dry creek beds can be installed and designed to be attractive landscape features while solving your drainage issues. A dry creek bed consists of a trench filled with gravel and a perforated drain line, topped with a decorative rock. This allows the entire length of the swale to act as one large catch basin and reroute any surface water in the area.

Downspout Drains

Downspouts discharging too close to the foundation of your home can quickly lead to foundation damage. Arrow Foundation Repair buries downspouts using solid PVC drain lines with an easily accessible clean-out. Downspouts can often be buried as  part of another drainage system or can be buried on their own to discharge a sufficient distance away from the foundation.
